I am a Mum of four beautiful girls, wife, daughter, sister, friend, teacher and entrepreneur. About 4 years ago, I had a realisation that there ‘must be a better way’. A better way to be, to live, to earn money, to give back to the world, to be more available for my girls as they grow. So, I embarked on this entrepreneurial journey.
Prior to this, I was a classroom teacher and executive in Primary Schools, for 20 years. During the last ten years, I saw many changes and demands placed on teachers and myself becoming a mother was another that changed my views. This is when I began to look further.
The world of Network Marketing became available to me; a great way to earn extra dollars and be more available to my family. This industry is very rewarding in many ways and being able to help others is my calling. This business requires consistency, time, hard work, determination and action to achieve success. As with all professions, if you don’t dedicate time and effort nothing thrives. The key difference though is it allows me the choice of how and when to be in action. I can spend more time with my children at important school events.
The industry allows for personal development and growth, which is something I love. As a busy Mum, trying to build a business as well as do the mundane daily chores, and play a multitude of different roles to many, it can be exhausting. However, the opportunity to grow myself as a person speaks big volumes. It gives you the capacity to develop your mindset, your skill set, your belief in yourself, and to see the world and your life with gratitude. As Mums, we have an unbelievably important job to love and teach our children many things but modelling to them the behaviours of gratitude, compassion, and helping others is just as important. I am passionate about leaving a legacy for my children and future grandchildren to be proud of.
Of course, there are many stumbling blocks, times when it is just all too hard and life gets too much to handle. We want to give up. All completely normal feelings. How do I overcome these times? For me, I am reminded of WHY I choose this, how I want to model to my children the person to be, and my big goals and dreams for them. This is what propels me forward to keep going. My motto in life is “Rest if you must, but NEVER give up’.
So I ask you, do you have a dream or a big goal that you would like to achieve? Do you know what your purpose in life is? Sometimes we have many. Take the time to dream a little for YOURSELF and ‘fill your cup daily’ – this will help you to be the best you can be in all areas of your life.
